SLIP RESISTANCE

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends that walking surfaces have a static coefficient of friction of at least 0.5 under dry conditions. A higher coefficient relates to a higher slip resistance. The ADA Standards for Accessible Design recommend a coefficient of friction of at least 0.6 for accessible routes and 0.8 for ramps.

Boral® Clay Pavers exceed a static coefficient of friction of 1.0 under both dry and wet conditions. These results are determined by testing as outlined in ASTM Standard C1028.
